BRASELTON - Superbike fans in Northeast Georgia are in luck this weekend. The American Motorcycle Association Chevy Superbike Showdown is going on at Road Atlanta in Braselton.
Kevin Schwantz, a former racer who is now with the Suzuki team, says the race is a 25 lap race on the 2.54 mile course featuring about 30 racers.
He said if it does rain, the racers will put special rain tires on the bikes and compete. The event is part of a 18 race tour that started in Daytona in March and ends in Birmingham in September.
The race is expected to draw as many as 50-thousand fans to Braselton.
