  • State track: North Hall's Clark finishes second in 3,200
    North Hall's Nolan Clark almost made it two Trojans distance titles in two days on Friday at the boys state track meet in Jefferson. One day after teammate Nick Long won the 1,600 meters, Clark ran his way to second place in the two-mile run, finishing in 10:02.03. Meanwhile Flowery Branch earned two more points to increase its total to 30.

    Lakeview Academy crashed out of the Class A playoffs on Friday, as Gordon Lee pulled off a sweep in a best-of-three series in Gainesville. Two runs proved the difference for the Lions, who lost each game by one run, 14-13 and 18-17.
