Mr. Jerry Self, Sr., age 67, of Blountsville, Alabama, formerly of Flowery Branch, passed away, Friday, February 15, 2013.

Funeral Services will be 2:00 p.m., Thursday, February 21, 2013 from the Chapel of Memorial Park South Funeral Home with interment following at Memorial Park South Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 20, 2013 at Memorial Park South Funeral Home.

Mr. Self was born June 13, 1945 to the late Odell & Georgie Self in Cullman, Alabama and served in the Army. Jerry worked for 37 years at Lucent Technologies and had been a member of The Rock of Gainesville.

Survivors include: wife, Shirley Self; son, Jerry Self, Jr.; son & daughter-in-law, Mark & Kelly Self; daughter, June Self; sons & daughters-in-law, Bobby & Stacey Self, John & Allyson Self and Richard & Cynthia Self; step-children, Kenneth & Kim Thacker, Kelvin & Lorrie Thacker and Karen & Louis Bonora; 16 grandchildren; brother, Billy Self; brother, Roger Self, Sr.; sisters, Darlen Hardy, Linda Hamilton, Maxine Crock, & Cecelia Herndon; and several nieces & nephews.
