Mr. Gus R. Butler, age 78, of Gainesville passed away Monday, January 21, 2013, at Bell Minor Nursing Home.


Funeral Services will be 3:00 p.m., Thursday, January 24, 2013 from the Chapel of Memorial Park South Funeral Home with interment following at Westview Cemetery, Lula. Pastor Tony Butler will officiate. The family will receive friends 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 23, 2013 at Memorial Park South Funeral Home.



Mr. Butler was born December 17, 1934 to the late Archie & Tinnie Butler in Homer and was of the Pentecostal Faith. He was a member of the National Guard and had been a Mechanic at New Holland Mill. Mr. Butler was also preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Butler in June of 2005; and siblings, Jesse Alexandra, Jean Dorsey, Lucy Ann Turner, Ruth Butler, Dorabell Parker, Adell Hill, Bill Butler, Claude Butler, Pratt Butler, Paul Butler, & Dean Butler.



Survivors include: son & daughter-in-law, Tim & Brenda Butler of Lula; son, Tommy Butler of Gainesville; daughter & son-in-law, Sue Ann & Randy Zimmerman of Gainesville; grandchildren, Tray Butler, Chasity Butler, George Zimmerman & Silas Zimmerman; great-grandchildren, Tyson Butler & Andy Soto; sister Lottie Butler Turner of Alto; and several nieces & nephews.
