Joe Dale Dareing, 71

Joe Dale Dareing, 71, of Cumming, GA died on November 27, 2012. Born on July 30, 1941 in Springfield, MO he was the son of the late Bennie Clyde and Hazel Dareing.
He was raised in Miami, OK and was a 1959 graduate of Miami High School. Joe attended Northeastern Oklahoma A&M and graduated from Oklahoma State University in 1963 where he was a member of Alpha Kappa Psi business fraternity.
Joe served in the US Army during the Vietnam War. During his career, he worked in sales for Hallmark Cards, McNeil Labs, Bristol-Myers Squibb, Ethel Corporation, and worked for 38 years with the Georgia Gulf Corporation set to retire as Industry Manager.
He expressed his faith by being an advisor to The Chapel in Akron, OH; as an active participant in building five Habitat for Humanity homes; and as an active member of the Gideon’s International of Canton, GA.
Joe was also generous to a number of organizations – Camp Patmos, Lake Erie Islands, OH; Pine Ridge Academy, Williston, VT; Cedarville University, Xenia, OH; and Kennesaw State University in Kennesaw, GA. He was a member of Johns Creek Baptist Church in Alpharetta, GA.
Joe was an accomplished musician. At the age of six, Joe began playing the mandolin with his brothers weekly on the Miami, OK radio station. He also formed a popular band with high school friends called the Red Heads, which led to a college scholarship. Joe was also noted for his banjo talent, playing bluegrass-style five string banjo.
Joe is survived by his beloved wife, Dodie Dareing of Cumming, GA; children, Kim Dareing of Cumming, GA and Mike (Melody) Dareing of Euharlee, GA; brothers, Bill Dareing of Valley View, TX and Don Dareing of Knoxville, TN; and much-loved grandchildren, Lauren and Megan Aubin.
Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 29, at the McDonald and Son Funeral Home in Cumming, GA. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 30, 2012, at Johns Creek Baptist Church in Alpharetta, GA. The Rev. David White will officiate. Brother Bill Dareing will speak. An additional service will be Monday, Dec. 3, with a 10 a.m. viewing and an 11 a.m. service at Grace Baptist Church in Westlake, OH. Keith Turnbull will speak at the service.Interment will follow at the Lakewood Park Cemetery in Rocky River, OH.
