William A. Porter, 89, of Dawsonville passed away Sunday November 18, 2012 at Embracing Hospice following a period of declining health.

Born January 23, 1923 in Buford, Georgia to the late Herbert and Lena Porter, he had lived in Dawson County since 1993. Mr. Porter was a retired poultry farmer and was a member of the Murrayville Baptist Church. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Joann Porter; son, William “Billy” Porter; and four sisters.

Surviving are his daughter, Ruth A. Porter, Dawsonville; and special friends, Rex, Kim and Benji Hamby, Paul and Kristen Cloud, Clay and Rebecca Cloud, Bayleigh Cloud.

Graveside services will be held Tuesday November 20, 2012 at 2 o’clock at the Murrayville Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Kenneth Allison will officiate.

The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6 until 8 at the funeral home.
