Beloved mother and ‘Grammy Becky’ Rebecca Jean Lacey Pirkle, 67, of Flowery Branch, GA., passed away on Monday, November 5, 2012, at her home following a period of declining health. A lifelong resident of Hall County, she was born on March 30, 1945, the daughter of the late Otis M. and Clara R. Lacey. She is also preceded in death by her adoptive parents, J.W. and Frankie Rail of Gainesville.
She was an alumnus of Lyman Hall Elementary School and a 1963 graduate of South Hall High School. Retired from Coronet Carpets/Beaulieu Group LLC of Gainesville, she was member of Flowery Branch Baptist Church.
She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Randy and Lori Pirkle, Johns Creek, Ron and Kelli C. Pirkle, Gainesville, Ray and Kelli F. Pirkle, Gainesville; her daughter, Robin Aiken, Flowery Branch; her grandchildren, Judith and Erik Knapp, Atlanta, Morgan Pirkle, East Point, Lindsey Taylor, Trion, Alex Aiken, Flowery Branch, Reed Pirkle, Gainesville, Miranda Aiken, Flowery Branch, Caitlin Pirkle, Gainesville, Ethan Pirkle, Gainesville, Nathaniel Stephens, Flowery Branch; her great-grandchild, Callie Knapp, Atlanta; brothers Ted Lacey, Flowery Branch, and Bradley Lacey, Baton Rouge, LA, and their families; her mother-in-law, Ruby Nell Pirkle, Buford; Jerry Pirkle, Flowery Branch; and numerous cousins, extended family and special friends.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, November 7, 2012, in the chapel of Little & Davenport Funeral Home. The Reverend Paul Wade will officiate. Interment will follow in Union Baptist Church cemetery in Flowery Branch. The family will receive friends at the Little & Davenport Funeral Home on Tuesday, November 6, 2012, from 6-8 p.m. and on Wednesday, November 7, 2012, from 12 – 3 p.m.
