Leonard Thomas “L.T.” Woodruff, age 82 of Oakwood, passed away on Sunday, June 17, 2012 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center following a brief illness.


Graveside services are scheduled for Wednesday, June 20, 2012 at 2:00 pm in Memorial Park Cemetery. Reverend Fletcher Law will officiate. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 19, 2012 from 7 – 9 pm at the funeral home.


Mr. Woodruff was born October 1, 1929 in Atlanta, Georgia to the late Leonard Thomas Woodruff and Gladys Medlin Woodruff. He served in the U.S. Air Force and was the owner/operator of L.T. Woodruff Builder for 35 years. L.T. was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Frances Jones and was a member of St. James United Methodist Church.


Mr. Woodruff is survived by his wife of 62 years, Rusty “Margaret” Starr Woodruff of Oakwood, daughters, Pam Pitts of Oakwood, Sherrill (Charlie) Chatham of Oakwood, Kathleen (John) Hammond of Dahlonega, Janet (Ed) McKnight of Ft. Worth, Texas and Jeanne Starr of Milledgeville, Georgia, grandchildren, Christy Goehringer, Tina Mershon, Tiffany Green, Austin Chatham, Stephen Hammond, Justyne Hammond, Jeff Dickeson and Jordan Graham and great-grandchildren, Emilie, Rhett, Gavin, Cooper, Aidan, Jake, Jett and Brityn.
