Graveside services for Mrs. Gertrude Worley Kinney, age 79, of Clarkesville will be held at 12:00 PM on Thursday, June 14, 2012 from Hills Crossing Baptist Church Cemetery, with Mr. Carl Ivester and Preacher Paul Wright to officiate.

Mrs. Kinney died June 12, 2012 at her residence following an extended illness.

Born in Clarkesville, Georgia on May 16, 1933, Mrs. Kinney was the daughter of the late William Jock and Lois Welborn Worley. Mrs. Kinney was employed at several restaurants and sewing plants. She was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary and enjoyed reading. Mrs. Kinney was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church. In addition to her parents Mrs. Kinney is preceded in death by brothers Garrison Worley and Arthur Worley and sisters Elizabeth Whitworth and Doris Gragg.

In addition to her husband Harvey Kinney, Mrs. Kinney is survived by daughter Gail Brooks Ivester Willis Dean of Clarkesville and daughter Lona Brooks Ridley of Toccoa, sisters Elmina Gosnell and Maxine Nicholson both of Clarkesville, brothers C.T. Worley of Indiana, Morris Worley and Swain Worley both of Clarkesville. Mrs. Kinney is also survived by 2 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, June 13, 2012 from 6 - 8 PM.
