George Jordan, age 54 of Maysville, passed away on Thursday, December 31, 2009 at his residence following an extended illness.

Funeral services are scheduled for Sunday, January 3, 2010 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home. Reverend Charlie Pugh will officiate. The family will receive friends on Sunday, January 3, 2010 from 9:00 am – 2:00 pm at the funeral home.

Mr. Jordan was born April 14, 1955 in Hall County, Georgia to the late Fred Jordan and Cornelia Campbell Jordan. George was employed at Georgia Floor as a tile technician and attended Hopewell Baptist Church and Lifetouch Church. He was preceded in death by his brother, Gary Jordan and two sisters, Lila Martin and Peggy Lewallen.

Mr. Jordan is survived by his companion, Violet Gunter, his son & daughter-in-law, George R. & LeAnn Jordan of Gainesville, his grandson, Josh Thrailkill of Gainesville, his two sisters, Teresa Lingerfelt and Helen Roberts both of Carnesville, his four brothers, Tony Jordan of Gainesville, Tommy Jordan of Gainesville, Johnny Jordan of Jackson, Georgia and Ricky Jordan of Maysville.
