Dahlonega Mattie Belle Cantrell, 81Passed Away: 05/27/2008Mrs. Mattie Belle Cantrell, age 81, of Dahlonega, Ga., passed away Tuesday May 27, 2008 at her Daughters residence.
Mrs. Cantrell was a native of Union county, but had lived most of her life in Lumpkin county. She was a member of Town Creek Baptist Church in White county for 52 years. She was the Daughter of the late John and Alice Seabolt Burnett and was also preceded in death by her husband of 65 years Hoke S. Cantrell, two Brothers and five Sisters. Mrs. Cantrell is survived by her Son and daughter-in-law; Jay and Bonnie Cantrell, Dahlonega, Ga., Daughter and son-in-law; Hazel and James Edge, Dahlonega, Ga., Brother; Anceberry Burnett, Blairsville, Ga. Sisters: Naomi Reece and Lela Stephens both of Blairsville. Grandchildren and spouses; Renee` and Ricky Smith, Tracy and Aaron wood, Tad and Amy Cantrell, Buffi and Shane Turner, Jody and Jessica Cantrell, Robin Davis, and Jamie Rider, Great-grandchildren; Matthew and Brooke Smith, Dustyn Smith, Stoney Edmondson, Asia Passmore, Cody Cantrell, Caylee Cantrell, Chenoa Cantrell, Bailey Williams,Camryn Williams, Hunter Turner, Jared Cantrell, Jacob Cantrell, and Ashley Davis. A number of other relatives also survive. Funeral services for Mrs. Cantrell are scheduled for 2 P.M. Friday May 30, 2008 at the Town Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Phillip Robinson, Rev. Darren Palmer, and Rev. Roger Dunagan officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 6 P.M. to 9 P.M., all day on Thursday until 9 PM. Banister Funeral Home of Dahlonega is in charge of the arrangements. ![]() |
