Hugh Edward Conner, 85

Mr. Hugh Edward Conner, age 85, of Duckett Mill Road, Gainesville, Georgia, passed away Monday, March 10, 2008 at Peachtree Christian Hospice in Duluth following an extended illness.

Mr. Conner was a Hall County native born to the late George Alexander Conner and Henrietta Pearl (Kitchens) Conner. He was a D.O. T. engineer by trade.

Mr. Conner was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Jill Conner Jarrard.

Mr. Conner is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Kate (Gregory) Conner, Gainesville; children, Phillip Conner, Cathy Conner Lee, Gail Conner, and Steve Conner; grandchildren, Justin Kidd, R.C. Lee, and Gabriella Conner; and great-grandchildren, Sydney and McKenna Jarrard.

Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 AM Wednesday, March 12, 2008 in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with burial to follow in Alta Vista Cemetery. The Rev. Danny Newbern will officiate. The family will receive friends from 9 AM to 11 AM Wednesday prior to the service.
