James Arthur "Elvis" Saunders , 64

James Arthur "Elvis" Saunders, age 64 of Oliver Drive, Gainesville, Georgia passed away Tuesday March 15, 2005 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center following an automobile accident.

Funeral services will be held 12:00pm Saturday March 19, 2005 in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with burial to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. The Rev. Drewery Loggins will officiate. The family will receive friends 5-9pm Thursday March 17, 2005 and 1-9pm Friday March 18, 2005 at the funeral home.


Mr. Saunders was born in Wayne County, Michigan to the late Clarence and Esther May Cox Saunders.

He is survived by his wife B.J. Saunders, Gainesville; sons, James Arthur Saunders, Jr., Joseph Allen Saunders, John Anthony Saunders, and Jerry Arnold Saunders all of Gainesville; daughter, Thonia Wynn Williamson, of Gainesville; and step-son, Shawn Edward Bailey, of Michigan, 20 grandchildren. He is also survived by a sister, Thelma Wright, Illinois; brothers, Robert Saunders, of Arkansas; and Richard Saunders, Michigan and brother and sister-in-law, Daniel and Rhonda Saunders also of Michigan.
