McGahee-Griffin & Stewart Funeral Home of Conelia announces the death of Carrie Maude Saxon Jackson, age 96, of Lula who died Wednesday, March 16, 2005 at a private healthcare facility following an extended illness.
Born in White County September 07, 1908, she was the daughter of the late Jimmy and Etta Hicks Saxon. Mrs. Jackson was a homemaker who loved to read her Bible, enjoyed working in her garden, and was a member of New Haven Congregational Holiness Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Jackson; daughter, Williew Mae Armour; sons, Claence Jackson, Donald Jackson; brother, Price Saxon; sisters, Lillie Bell Thomas, Mae Smith, Lonie Smith, and Blanche Lewallen.
Suvivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Louise and Frank Maxwell, Lula; brother, Claude Saxon, Lula; sisters, Gertrude Armour, Dollie Duncan, both of Lula; 13 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 PM Friday, March 18, 2005 from the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart Funeral Home with Reverend Wayne Hicks and Reverend Edwin Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Belton Baptist Church cemetery.
The family will received friends at the funeral home Thursday, March 16, 2005.
