Barrow County Parks and Recreation
Newcomers to Barrow County and long-time residents alike, have a common sentiment about this community, "You have everything an urban community has to offer without having to live in an urban community." But the difference is that this cozy community is situated in the middle of an area abounding with world renowned sporting events, cultural activities, recreation, entertainment, shopping and dining.
Barrow County has an active Recreation Department and a growing YMCA, both of which offer year-round recreational activities for children and adults. The Barrow County Recreation Department has a wide variety of activities for children and youth including soccer, baseball, softball, tennis, wrestling, cheerleading, gymnastics, flag football, tackle football, basketball, art classes and guitar lessons. Adults can participate in soccer, softball, and a variety of classes offered periodically throughout the year.
Barrow County is also home to Chateau Elan Winery and Resort, Fort Yargo State Park, and numerous other recreational opportunities. You will not be lacking for things to do if you live in Barrow County.
